Printable habit tracker

Pick a layout, type your habits, print it. Monthly grid, weekly grid, or a circle you can put on the wall. No account and no email.

Choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog to keep a copy. Only the sheet prints, and it prints in outline so it barely uses any ink.

Why paper still works

A tracker on the wall is visible whether or not you opened an app. That is most of the value. The reason habit trackers work at all is that they turn an invisible record into something you have to look at, and paper is very good at being looked at.

Filling a box in by hand also takes slightly more effort than tapping a screen, and that effort is the point. It gives the day a small ceremony instead of a reflex.

The three layouts

Monthly grid

One row per habit, 31 boxes across. The whole month sits on one page, so gaps are obvious from across the room. This is the layout most bullet-journal spreads use, and it is the one to pick if you are tracking five habits or fewer.

Weekly grid

Monday through Sunday, repeated for four weeks. Each habit gets more horizontal room, which matters if your habit names are longer than two words or you are tracking eight of them.

Circle

One ring per habit, thirty segments each, filled from the outside in. It reads less like a spreadsheet and more like an object, which is why people put this one on the fridge. Six habits is the practical ceiling before the inner rings get too small to colour.

How to actually use it

Put it somewhere you already look. The back of a door, the side of the fridge, next to the kettle. A tracker in a drawer is a tracker you will fill in retroactively on the twenty-eighth, which defeats the point.

Keep a pen with it. The gap between deciding to mark the box and finding something to mark it with is where the habit dies.

And do not restart the sheet when you miss a day. A month with four gaps in it is still a month with twenty-six filled boxes, and throwing the page away turns one bad day into a lost month. That problem is the whole reason Streak Repair exists in the app version.

Printable tracker FAQ

Is this printable habit tracker free?

Yes. No account, no email, no watermark. Build the sheet you want, print it or save it as a PDF, and use it however you like.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Press the print button, then pick "Save as PDF" as the destination in your browser's print dialog. Everything except the tracker sheet is hidden, so you get the sheet on its own.

What size does it print at?

It fits A4 and US Letter without changes, because the sheet scales to the page rather than to a fixed pixel width. Print at 100% scale for the cleanest boxes.

Which layout should I pick?

The monthly grid if you want the whole month visible at once, which is the classic bullet-journal shape. The weekly grid if you are tracking more habits than fit comfortably across 31 columns. The circle if you want something you will actually put on a wall.

How many habits should I track?

Fewer than you want to. Three is a good start, five is a reasonable ceiling. People who start eleven habits on the first of the month are usually tracking zero by the fifteenth.
